Getting Ready

How to Dress
Clothing is optional, but most home wrappers wear a bathing suit or underwear.

Measuring
If you want to see the results, measure yourself and mark where you measure so that you can be sure to measure in the exact same spot when the wrap is complete. Always be sure to stand in the same position (arms up or down) for accurate re-measuring after the wraps.

Before the wrap. Do not use soaps, lotions or creams prior to the wrap. Our body washes contain no pore clogging ingredients and will clean and open the pores to be ready for the body wrap solution. Use one of our body washes or other non-clogging wash when you shower prior to your wrap.

Dry Skin Body Brush. Dry skin brushing opens the pores, increases circulation and removes dead skin cells. Read more about dry skin brushing here.

Performing the Body Wrap

The technique you use for performing your body wrap will depend on whether you choose to use bandage wraps or plastic wraps to wrap with.  We will show you both techniques.

Wrapping with bandage wraps

673-2

The benefits of wrapping with bandage wraps is that they apply heat and can provide compression to the skin to help draw out toxins. And the wraps can be washed (in hot water) and used again and again.

If you are using the bandage wraps, you will soak them in water or a body wrap solution prior to wrapping. Heat the water or solution to 120 degrees F in a heating unit (this can be a crock pot, roaster, slow cooker, or even a pot on the stove top). Heat for 30 minutes to allow the solution to be absorbed into the wraps. Allow the solution to cool to a temperature that is still hot but tolerable to the touch. Use tongs to remove the wraps from the heated solution 1 at a time as needed. Wear gloves to wring out the excess water from the wrap prior to wrapping.

If you are applying clay or mud prior to wrapping, apply it in a thin layer prior to wrapping.

The Wrapping Process
You can choose to do a full body wrap, a partial body wrap or spot treatments. Full body wraps start at the ankle and work upward wrapping the entire body. Partial wraps start above the knee and wrap to below the chest. Spot wraps can be used on any area of your body.

Wrap Tension
Various tensions can be used and we suggest choosing the one that is best for you. Salons and Spas use both compression (adding tension to the bandage wrap while wrapping) and non-compression (wrapping will no tension) depending on the type of wraps they are offering to their clients.
Non-Compression
Aloe and Herbal wraps are more commonly performed with no compression as the heat from the wraps will boost the absorption of the aloe and/or herbs opening the pores, allowing the product to penetrate for overall detoxification, toning and tightening of the skin. The non-compression wraps are more relaxing and are easier to perform especially if you are wrapping yourself. Non-compression are preferred for aroma wraps as they are designed to produce a positive relaxing and therapeutic aroma experience.
Compression Treatment
You should check with your doctor before performing a compression wrap as some people with medical problems should not use compression. Compression wraps are preferred for inch loss wraps for maximum results.
Use Both!
You can combine compression with non-compression by wrapping with a little more tension over the areas of the body where you want to focus such as the waist, hips, buttocks and thighs.

Wrap Towards the Heart
Start your wrap at the ankle and always wrap from the outside of the body towards the front to ensure that blood circulation is not impeded. Always start wrapping the farthest from the heart working toward the heart.
Securing wraps

Overlapping Wraps
For compression wraps, make sure the lower edge of the wrap crosses the middle of the previous wrap to eliminate extra pressure on the skin from bulges.

Twist & Tuck
To secure each wrap firmly, twist the end of the wrap starting about 2 inches before reaching the end of the wrap. Twist and tuck into the previous wrap. When coming around with the wrap make sure that you cover the previous opening. This will save you time and you will be able you to get out of the wrap safely and effectively.

Pressure Points
For compression wraps, use extreme caution when wrapping the four pressure points: Back of the knee joints, Inside top of the legs (groin), Lower Back, Inside of elbows.

Wrapping with Plastic Wrap
Plastic wrap can be used to wrap areas where clay or mud are applied to the skin. The benefits of using plastic wrap is that it is easier to use if you are wrapping yourself and you can still get terrific results. It is also much easier to clean up because you can simply throw it away when it is removed.

To use plastic wrap, apply the clay or mud to the area, then wrap with the plastic wrap. Do not wrap too tightly.

Leave on for 1 hour!  It’s that easy!

737When finished wrapping, put on a sauna suit, a sweat suit, or cover up with warm covers. Stay in the wraps for at least 60 minutes.

To enhance results you can also perform light exercises (a treadmill, elliptical, vibration machine, etc.) or sit in a sauna or sauna blanket. The priority is to stay warm but be cautious of overheating. If you start to feel nauseated or light-headed, cool down slightly and drink lots of water.

To wrap the neck
Pull back hair or use a shower cap. Start at the top of the head, wrap and bring to down under the chin and back around.

Remove the Wraps
Slowly remove the wraps and wipe off any excess residue (from European Dry Mineral, Clay or Mud wraps) with a moist cloth. For best results, do not rinse or shower for at least 6 hours to allow the benefits of the formula to continue to work. Re-measure and see the results!

Anti-Cellulite Gel
Apply the Slenderizing Anti-Cellulite Gel after removing the wraps.

Drink Lots of Water
It is important to drink 8 – 10 glasses of water during the next 24 to 48 hours to help flush toxins from the body. While the wrap is an external treatment, it does increase the circulation in the lymphatic system and drinking the water will help to flush out the toxins from the inside as well, increasing your inch loss, reducing cellulite and improving overall health and skin tone.

How Often to Wrap
For best results, complete a series of 8-12 wraps. This can be done once a week or as much as every other day.

Additional Information
For greater results, stay on a good diet, drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.
